What we collect

• Account details — email address and name if you sign in (email or Google).
• Song answers — the names, stories, memories, lyrics and preferences you type in to make a song.
• Recipient email — only if you choose to email a song to someone.
• Payment details — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Technical data — basic, anonymous visit statistics and error logs.

Please only share details about other people that you are comfortable sharing and that they would expect in a gift.

Why we use it (legal basis)

• To make, deliver and store your song, and process payments — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To send receipts and gift emails you request — contract.
• To keep records required by tax law — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• To keep the site secure and working — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Stripe — payments.
• ElevenLabs — recording the music from the lyrics.
• AI language model providers — writing lyrics from your answers.
• Our hosting, database and email providers — running the site and sending emails.

Some providers are outside the EU (for example in the USA). Transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Songs and gift links stay available so the recipient can keep listening, until you ask us to delete them. Payment records are kept for as long as Greek tax law requires (usually 5 years).

Cookies and storage

We only use storage that is strictly necessary: keeping you signed in and saving your unfinished answers on your device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie banner is needed.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to how we use it. Email info@playforthem.euand we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
